About this race

Join us for our 14th Annual Race!

TakeOff is a race to honor DUI victims, raise awareness about the seriousness of impaired driving, and encourage the community to have a positive influence in the reduction of impaired driving. All profits will go to the purchase of breathalyzers (PBTs) for the Pennsylvania State Police and other law enforcement agencies throughout the Commonwealth. Since 2009, the foundation has purchased 2,436 PBTs. This year, the goal is to raise $100,000 to purchase 200 PBTs. Join us in person at Saint Vincent College or virtually at your convenience and help us make our communities safer by providing the necessary tools to law enforcement to remove impaired drivers from our roads. Together we can make a difference; we can save lives. Thank you for support. We will continue to pray for your health and safety.

What to expect

Written from race data

TakeOff 2023: Trooper Kenton Iwaniec Memorial Event presents a special Children's 100M Sprint for participants aged 6 and under, taking place on April 22, 2023, in Latrobe, PA. This event honors Trooper Kenton Iwaniec and aims to foster a spirit of community and athletic engagement in young children. Participants can anticipate a fun, low-pressure introduction to racing, focusing on participation and enjoyment rather than strict competition. The atmosphere is designed to be supportive and encouraging, celebrating the effort and enthusiasm of every young runner. The Children's 100M Sprint is a flat, short-distance race typically held on a track or a similarly smooth, open surface, ensuring safe and manageable conditions for very young runners. Given the age group and the focus on a memorial event, the terrain is expected to be well-maintained and safe, with no challenging inclines or obstacles. Participants should arrive ready to run and have fun, with minimal focus on formal race preparation. The notable feature of this sprint is its connection to the Trooper Kenton Iwaniec Memorial, adding a layer of significance to the event beyond just a children's race.
