Join the fun at the Annual Resolution Run presented by Birmingham Ultra Trail Society (BUTS) again year! Get the new year off to an early start by partying (at least that's what we'll loosely call a fun run) with a few hundred like-minded souls. This informal "race" is an opportunity to enjoy good company and support a great cause as all net proceeds raised by registration fees and your donations will go directly to Red Mountain Park.

We'll have two distances marked out for your running pleasure: a 5K route and a 10K route. Choose whichever suits your fancy or loop through multiple times for longer distances. Please note that we have different start times for each route so that everyone can finish at about the same time. For those not familiar with Red Mountain Park, these will be trail routes but some of the trails are converted railroad paths and are not very technical.

Register online before race morning at a cost of $30. Registration will be available on race morning for $35.

No awards. No timing. Just fun. Come join us!!!

AI Overview

The Resolution Run 2023 10K, taking place on January 7, 2023, in Birmingham, AL (35211), is a well-established event designed to kickstart the new year with a healthy challenge. While specific historical details are not provided, its recurring nature suggests a tradition of bringing the community together for fitness and celebration at the start of each year. Participants can anticipate a well-organized 10-kilometer race that typically attracts a mix of competitive runners and casual participants looking to achieve a fitness goal. The event's designation as "Event Type: 6" is likely an internal classification or code, and doesn't inherently convey specific race characteristics to the public. Participants should prepare for a course that likely traverses the local terrain of Birmingham. Given the typical characteristics of urban 10K races, expect a combination of paved roads, possibly with some gentle rolling hills, common in the area. The January date means runners should be ready for potentially cool weather conditions, so appropriate attire is recommended. While specific route details or notable landmarks are not listed, these types of events often showcase parts of the city and may include elements like live music, post-race refreshments, or awards to enhance the overall participant experience and reinforce the celebratory spirit of a "resolution" run.
