For the Love of Running 5K/10K is a heart-warming option for the Independence County running community on Feb. 18, Saturday after Valentine's Day. The straightforward out-and-back route along Miller Creek Road features a mix of dirt and paved road with a few gentle climbs, just enough bends in the path to prevent horizon numbness, and a bit of woodland, pasture, and country home scenery.
We'll have Top 3 Male, Top 3 Female awards for each race, and finishers medals for all. $25 entry fee. Long-sleeve T-shirt guaranteed to all entrants as of Jan. 30.
The 10K will start at 8 a.m., 5K at 8:15 from the horse arena on Miller Creek Road by the Soccer Complex. The 10K will be an out-and-back to Moorefield Cutoff; the 5K will have a turnaround midway to the cutoff.
