Geaux Bald 5k & 10k 5k

 

Join us on February 25th and be a hero for kids with cancer! The Geaux Bald Race is a charity event to raise money for pediatric cancer research. Geaux Bald is a student-run organization at LSU Health Shreveport that works with St. Baldrick’s Foundation in the fight against childhood cancer. The culmination of Geaux Bald is Shave Day, in which, after months of fundraising, students and members of the community shave their heads or donate hair for kids with cancer. Cancer is the 2nd leading cause of death in children, and only 4% of federal government cancer research funding goes to study pediatric cancer. ALL PROCEEDS will be donated to this
initiative. Get involved, and you'll be giving hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers!

Entry Fee:   1k until Jan 25   $10.00                     Jan. 26 thru race day   $15.00

                     5k until Jan 25     $20.00                  Jan.26 thru race day   $25.00

                     10k until Jan 25   $25.00                  Jan. 26 thru race day   $30.00

                     Phantom Runner   $25.00

 Packet Pick-Up: 

Packet pick-up will be at Sportspectrum, 6970 Fern Avenue, Shreveport

Thursday February 23rd from 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.,

Friday February 24th 10:00-5:30 p.m.

Race packets will also be available at the race site @ 7:00 a.m. the day of the race. 

 

Phantom Runner: If you would like to support Geaux Bald, but are unable to attend the race, you can register as a Phantom Runner. You will receive a t-shirt, you just don’t have to get out of bed and run!

 

Awards: Awards will be presented to the overall and 2nd overall male and female winners in both the 5k & 10k.

Additionally, 1st & 2nd place male and female in the following age groups win an award for both the 5k & 10k: 19-under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
