About this race
Chaffee Strong walk/run clinic is for men and women walkers and runners. Walkers will have two groups to pick from. Walkers A are those who just want to walk their pace. Walkers B are for the walkers who like the fast/slow interval walk.. Next we have two groups for those who want to run. Runner A will be for those who have never ran and just don't know where to start. Runner B is for the runner who hasn't been able to run a consistent pace or who is simply trying to get back to running. All groups will be receiving the proper stretching techniques and strength training in order to be a healthy injury free walker/runner.The clinic will have experienced leaders who will teach how to pace and walk/run with or without intervals in order to complete the 5 k to conclude the 9 week clinic. The clinic will introduce to all of the wonderful trials that Chaffee has to offer along with the unique business around the area. The clinic is a 9 week training beginning with a kick off party on March 2nd, and ending with a 5 k race on May 6th. The clinic will be held every Monday and Thursday @ 6 pm starting March 6th at 7000 Taylor Ave ( Western Arkansas Runners Building). All proceeds benefit The Chaffee Crossing Historic Preservation Organization. The 5 k on March 6th will be open to non-clinic participants as well as clinic participants with a finish line party.
