March 4, 2023
Flint, MI, 48506, US
On March 6, 2018, McKenna Schummer lost a 20-month battle with Osteosarcoma at the young age of 11. Â On March 6, we have hosted a "Make a Difference Day the #McKennassquad Way" the past three years. Â In 2021, we went virtual for the First Annual Make a Difference Day 5K in honor of McKenna.Â
She helped children find their courage, strength and beauty through the creation of the McKennassquad Beauty Bar at the Children's Hospital of Michigan in Detroit. Â Today, McKenna's Beauty Bar has been able to help many children going through tough times and has also been expanded in the form "Beauty Bar Boxes". Â These have been delivered to many hospitals within Michigan and also out of state.Â
McKenna's passion for make up lives on with this legacy and we need your help to "Make a Difference" by signing up, participating, posting, sharing, and helping #McKennassquad grow to reach more children in hospitals. Â We went virtual for 2021 but like last year, we are in person with wonderful opportunities to run/walk a 5K or run/walk a "McKenna Mile". Â All proceeds go directly to the #McKennassquad Beauty Bar! Â Make a Difference today and join us March 4, 2023!Â
We are so excited to be back with a 1-mile fun run, 5K and 10K Run/Walk at the beautiful trails along Mott Lake!
Each runner will receive a beautiful medal and other swag bag items while "Making a Difference" in many children going through tough times in hospitals and homes. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram too!
