About this race
In a food obsessed city like Houston, an event which pays tribute to one of the state's defining pastries, the Kolache, seems only natural. If you haven't had a Kolache before, you've come to the right place. Welcome to the 5th Annual 'Kolache Factory 5K/10K/Kids Dash'!
Kolache Factory, our title sponsor, was founded in 1982 in Houston, Texas by co-founders John and Jerri Banks, who identified a need for a fresh, high quality breakfast that could be eaten “on the run.†We're excited to officially put "on the run" to the test!

Participants in the event may register via three options: 5K/10K, Kids Run (12 and under only) or the Virtual Run.
The '5K -or- 10K Run/Walk' registration is for runners who wish to take a more leisurely, traditional run/walk approach to the event and save the kolaches until after the run/walk. An award will be given to the fastest overall casual male and female, $100 Kolache Factory gift card.
The 'Kolache Kids Dash' (Ages 12 and Under Fun Run, Untimed). One parent per child may participate for free during the event. We'll also have a face painter/balloon twister on site at the start/finish line area between 8-10am for all of our participating kids!
The 'Virtual Run' is for runners who prefer to sleep in, earn their race swag and visit Kolache Factory on their own time.

All participants are eligible to enjoy kolaches at the finish line (courtesy of Kolache Factory) along with other post-race refreshments including one free beer per 21+ participant.Â
