Join us for a Pi Day 5k on March 11, 2023!

This race recognizes the importance of STEAM and STEM programs in our communities and will benefit Impression 5 Science Center’s scholarship programs. 

Impression 5 Science Center is a dynamic, interactive space for families to play, create, and challenge their understanding of science together. Their scholarship programs increase access to their exhibits and experiences for children and families throughout our community. Race Details

Location: Hawk Island Park

Start Time: 9:00 am on Saturday March 11, 2023

Those racing for a competitive time, start to line up to at 8:50 am. After the competitive start, keep an eye on the start line and begin your run/walk when you feel comfortable. The starting line is open to allow for social distancing. You do not have to feel rushed to get to the starting line.  Start your race when you are ready. Timing does not start until you cross the timing mats!

Entry Fee: Early bird registration $25 until November 30, 2022.  Registration $30 from December 1, 2022 through February 28, 2023. Registration increases March 1, 2023 to $35.

Giveaways: Finisher medals and shirts available to participants and all participants receive a piece of pie after the race! 

Early Packet Pick Up: Packet Pick up will be available on Friday March 10, 2023 at Impression 5 Science Center from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM.

Day of Packet Pick Up: Race day packet pick up will begin at 8:00 am at the covered/indoor Redtail Pavilion in Hawk Island Park.

Results: Your accurate chip time and current overall and age group place will be texted to your phone and live on this site. Timing done by Michigan Running Foundation.

Awards: Overall male and female winner will receive a certificate for a pair of Asics from Playmakers! First place in each adult age group (15 and up) will receive a full size pie donated by Capital City Market! First place in Youth age group (Under 14) will receive a gift card to TinkrLab.

Age Groups: Under 14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. 

No-shows to the race will forfeit their shirt and finisher medal.

Proceeds from the race go to support Impression 5’s scholarship program.

Virtual Pi Day 5k: If you can't make the race and still want to participate, sign up for the virtual race and we will mail out a shirt and medal to you! Run your virtual race any time from March 7th to March 14th (Pi Day!). Cost is $35 and includes shipping. There are no placement awards for the virtual event. Virtual event registration closes March 3rd and packets will be mailed no later than March 6th.
