About this race

Baltimore’s Saint Patrick’s Day 5k is a road race that will be taking place in Patterson Park on Friday, March 17th, 2023. The Baltimore Road Runners Club (BRRC) will be hosting this race its 5th time in 2023.

We hope you celebrate your Irish, or your not so Irish, heritage with us with a run through Baltimore’s most historic park. Feel free to wear your favorite St. Patrick’s Day garb or dress like a leprechaun! You are welcome to walk, run, push a stroller, or run with your well-behaved dog at this race.

Date and Location: March 17, 2023 at 6:30 PM start time in Baltimore's Patterson Park. Registration, start, and finish line are near pavilion in the middle of Patterson Park, not the one more western one. Searching for Patterson Park Central Pavilion on Google Maps will get you there and so will this link

Registration: Race day registration will be available ($35 for members and $50 for non-members) and begins at 5:30pm. You can join BRRC for $22/year and read all about our incredible benefits here. The $15 for club members is automatically applied at checkout if you're logged into your RunSignup account as a BRRC member.

Amenities: Copper Moscow Mule mugs! These were a hit in 2022, so we're doing the same thing again. Besides, having a set at home instead of just one is a pure class. Drinks are on us at our post-race party in the courtyard at Patterson Park Public Charter School (PPPCS) so bring your ID. Fill your new mug with kegs of local craft beer from Key Brewing. We will also have live music!

Course: Want to chase a PR? This might be the course for you! This net-downhill, 100% asphalt course drops 40 feet from start to finish and stays on the wider sections of roadway (no vehicles) through Patterson Park. There is one large climb in the 2nd mile but you’re rewarded with a run-by of the Pagoda and a long descent to the General Pulaski Monument before finishing. We will have mile marks and split times. Now through 2/28: $25 for BRRC members, $40 for non-members. BRRC discount will be automatically applied at checkout from RunSignUp.
3/1 through 3/14 11:59PM when online registration closes: $30 for BRRC members, $45 for non-members.
Race-day: $35 for BRRC members, $50 for non-members - we will take credit card payment via Square but cash is better.

Packet Pickup: On site at the Pavilion (map), on race day only, starting at 5:00 pm.

Parking:  Public on-street parking is free, but limited, around Patterson Park.  More public on-street parking along Linwood Ave and streets north and east of the Park is likely easiest. Participants are encouraged to carpool or take rideshares.

Race Conditions: The averages in Baltimore on March 17th are a high of 55 and a low of 40. No guarantees, though! Sunset is at 7:15 PM.

Awards: Top 3 overall male and female - $60, $50, $40.  First masters male and female - $50. Double dipping on prize money is allowed.

Elite Entry:  Complimentary entry if you’ve run one of the following standards or equivalents since January 1, 2021. Email Graham at [email protected] with a link to your race result. Let's have a race up front!  Men: 5k - Under 16:00 or 10 mile - Under 55:00.  Women: 5k - Under 18:30 or 10 mile - Under 63:00
