The Medal Madness Saint Patrick 5K & 10K at Callaway Recreational Complex is an annual running event celebrating St. Patrick's Day with a festive atmosphere. While this specific listing details the 5K, the event typically offers both 5K and 10K distances, providing options for runners of all levels. Participants can anticipate a well-organized race at the Callaway Recreational Complex in Panama City, Florida, known for its scenic park setting. The "Medal Madness" title strongly suggests that a distinctive medal is a key draw for finishers. The event usually takes place on a Saturday in mid-March, with the 2023 iteration scheduled for March 18th. Runners can expect a mostly flat and fast course, characteristic of park-based races, making it suitable for personal best attempts. The terrain at Callaway Recreational Complex generally consists of paved paths and possibly some packed gravel or dirt trails, offering a pleasant running experience through natural surroundings. The timing of the event in March means participants should prepare for potentially mild to warm Florida spring weather, with early morning starts being common to mitigate heat.
