The Human Race is a fundraiser for organizations with non-profit status in Randolph County. Any community agency, religious or educational group can participate. These organizations form teams, raise money and participate in this event. Individuals and businesses also participate by registering for the event to either walk or run and pledge an amount to their favorite non-profit.
The race is sponsored by The Volunteer Center and all preparations are done by a committee of volunteers that solicit sponsors, print materials, media publicity, awards, refreshments and entertainment to make sure the race is a success.
This event is a WIN-WIN for the community. The participating organizations receive a large percentage of the monies raised and The Volunteer Center receives the remainder.
