The 2023 Lone Star Stampede - Kids K, presented by the Texas Exes Houston Chapter, took place on March 25, 2023, in Houston, TX (77092). This specific event is a "Kids K," indicating a shorter distance designed for younger participants, typically around 1 kilometer or less. While the provided details don't offer extensive race history, the "Lone Star Stampede" likely signifies an annual event organized by the Texas Exes Houston Chapter, a university alumni association, suggesting a tradition of community engagement and support for the university. Participants in the Kids K should anticipate a fun, family-friendly atmosphere with a focus on encouraging physical activity for children. As a Kids K, the terrain is generally expected to be flat and accessible, often held in parks or on paved surfaces within a community setting. This ensures a safe and manageable course for young runners. Weather in Houston in late March can be variable, ranging from mild and pleasant to warm and humid, so participants should be prepared for these conditions. Notable features of this race would be its association with the Texas Exes alumni network, potentially offering a sense of community and shared connection. The primary focus of the Kids K is likely participation and enjoyment rather than competitive timing, making it an excellent opportunity for children to experience the excitement of a running event.
