About this race
Emma was diagnosed with toxic shock syndrome. It was caused by the strep A bacteria. She went in 5 days from a happy, healthy little girl to being put on life support fighting for her life. The infection is throughout her entire body and has taken a hit to all her vital organs. She is only alive because of a treatment called ecmo. Her parents cannot leave her side, there for leaving a hard financial situation. The family will need lots of upgrades on a home and car as well as future surgeries. We are unsure as to when she will be getting out of the hospital and onto recovery. Prayers are greatly appreciated overall. Thank you.
