About this race
Race Purpose: The Wharton Council and the Wharton Roadrunners, in benefit of the Fund for the School District of Philadelphia, are proud to present the 11th Annual Wharton 5K, the University of Pennsylvania’s largest 5K event. The main goal of the Wharton 5K is to bring together students, staff, and community members to give back to the Philadelphia community through a great cause: the Fund for the School District of Philadelphia, a nonprofit organization that aims to connect private investment and donations to strategic priorities that have a measurable impact on the success of local Philadelphia students regardless of zip code, family income, or chance. Location: Shoemaker Green, 33rd Street, between the Palestra and Franklin Field.Â
Awards: Top 1-3 overall (male & female), and special awards for the fastest team* and most spirited team. In addition, all teams (at least 5 participants) will be entered into a raffle for various giftcards and prizes.Â
*Fastest team is the lowest aggregate time of a team's 5 fastest runners (male or female).
Amenities: Free Dry-Fit t-shirt (for the first 500Â entrants), post-race festival, snacks, giveaways, and more!
