Race for Education 5K

The Race for Education 5K, a Run/Walk for Hillsborough County Public Schools in partnership with Hillsborough Education Foundation, will proudly take place on April 1, 2023 

We are excited to pick up the pace for public education as we prepare students for life in Hillsborough County Public Schools. In partnership with Hillsborough Education Foundation, join us for our 2nd Annual Race for Education 5K on Saturday, April 1, 2023, and that's no joke, as we move to improve mental and physical wellness while celebrating and supporting our students, teachers, and school district initiatives. Runners and walkers of all ages and fitness levels are invited for a fun-filled race down North Boulevard and over the Hillsborough River. Join us for giveaways, snacks, refreshments, student performances, and music to amp you up as you race through downtown.

There is also a 1-mile race option available for families, children, and walkers. 

Registration will include a swag bag with a race-day bib, freebies from our partners in education, a t-shirt, and a finisher medal.

You won't want to miss the post-race award ceremony and celebration!

Registration for 1-Mile - $20 Thru Race Day

Start Times:   Packet Pickup/Race Day Registration for BOTH 5K and 1 Mile - 7:00 a.m. until 7:45 a.m.       

5K - 8:00 a.m.  (chip timed)
1 Mile Fun Run/Walk - 9:00 a.m. (running time clock)

Awards (5K only) - approximately 9:00 am
Awesome Custom Finisher Medal for all 5K participants and a special medal for the 1 Mile Mini-Trotters.

Packets can also be picked up at the race site on the morning of the run, Saturday, April 1, starting at 7:00 a.m.                                                                Registration will be available race morning starting at 7:00 a.m., too.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT PARKING

The race will begin on North Boulevard just north of Julian B. Lane Park. Parking is available for free at Blake High School in the parking garage, as well as Stewart Middle Magnet School and Riverwalk STEM Academy at Just Elementary. Due to the road closure on North Boulevard, we recommend all participants access these three parking options via Spruce Street.
