About this race

On April 1, 2023, Incredible Kids will hold a community outreach and fundraising event at Le Chien Brewing Company in Denham Springs.

The event will include a 5k run/walk, a kid’s fun run, a pet parade, and more.

In addition, the Funds raised from this event will benefit part of Launch’s community outreach budget and provide other services not covered by insurance and Medicaid.

The outreach budget supports the following activities: Incredible Kids, adapted swim lessons, an inclusive

soccer team, and summer camp tuition for exceptional children.

Launch provides speech, occupational, and physical therapy services at a frequency and duration that is research-based to achieve

optimal progress. However, that may not be assessable to all children due to insurance visit limits, policy exclusions, and community

access. Launch Therapy Center also addresses therapeutic needs through social groups, parent support groups, therapeutic preschool, and a sensory

garden. Furthermore, the Launch staff and volunteers help our children and families participate in activities in the community. This

might include athletic teams, religious activities, doctor/dentist visits, and other extra-curricular activities. The children of Launch

present the following diagnoses: autism, Down syndrome, traumatic brain injury, speech and language disorders, hearing impairment,

cerebral palsy, Spina Bifida, neurological disorders, feeding and swallowing disorders, and genetic disorders

Since August 2015, Launch has served over 1600 children with disabilities and their families by providing outpatient speech,

occupational, and physical therapy services, parent support groups, social groups, community awareness, and community support.

Launch currently has 311 active patients, over 90 percent living in Livingston Parish. Additionally, 64 percent of the children served to

receive Medicaid. Our goal is to provide services close to home and school, based on the frequency and duration research indicates

most effective, and to integrate the child into the community by supporting individuals, businesses, and programs.
