The Ascent The Ascent - 5K

The Ascent is a 5K + Fun Run/Roll/Push brought to you by The Phoenix Journey. 

The Phoenix Journey is a Non-Profit group determined to encourage, educate and support those effected with an autoimmune disease of any kind along with the friends and family.

If you or someone you know is affected by autoimmune disease, you know some days are better than others, and some are just bad.  But each person shows courage day by day making the decision to face the challenges of the ascent for that day.

The 5k will be a standard 5K race comprised of multiple laps through the beautiful Generation Park.  This will be a Chip Timed event and awards will be given to the Top 5 Male and Female Finishers

However, this is not like any fun run you have probably done before, because you (YES YOU!) set the finish line.  There will be finish lines every 100 yards and you get to choose which one you can Ascend to based on your journey that day.  If you can make the Ascent to show up and make it to the first 100 yards, you get to celebrate YOUR Ascent  If you can make the Ascent for the entire length, you get to celebrate YOUR Ascent. 

The important thing is to show the courage and determination needed as an effected person, a caregiver, a family member, or friend to make your ascent and be celebrated.

The time limit for the Fun Run will be 1 hour
