Volusia County Schools Home Run 5K 5K Run/Walk for Volusia County School Employees (ID required)

Description

The Volusia County Schools Home Run 5K course will take you by the beautiful Halifax Harbor Marina, along the City of Daytona Beach walking trails, and down historical Beach Street.

The morning & events will include a race start by the Daytona Tortugas’ mascot Sheldon and a Kids Fun Run around the bases! T-shirts, swag bags, and baseball themed Finisher Medals to the first 300 finishers, will make this race a Home Run for all! All of this, combined with music and light food, promises to be a morning of fun for the entire family at Jackie Robinson Ballpark, home of the Daytona Tortugas! Walkers are welcome!

Proceeds from the race will benefit and be divided equally amongst all Volusia County Schools high school track and field programs. Spend a morning with friends, family or co-workers; promote good health, friendship, camaraderie and the thrill of participating together, and supporting our local youths.

Community Members: $25

Volusia County Schools (VCS) Employees: Free

VCS Employee Family Members: $10

VCS Students: $10, Kids Run Bases (12 and under): Free

 

Schedule of Events

Packet Pick-Up: Friday, April 14th from 5 PM to 7 PM- Dick’s Sporting Goods of Daytona Beach, 2500 W I.S.B. Blvd Ste 100, Daytona Beach, FL.
Runners may pick-up their packet and register in-person on the morning of the race from 7 AM until 7:45 AM at Jackie Robinson Ballpark (online and pre-race packet pick-up are highly encouraged). VCS Employees and Students must bring their VCS issued or student I.D. to packet pick-up or in-person registration. 

Race Start: 8 AM
Kids Run the Bases: 9:15 AM
Awards Ceremony: 9:30 AM

Timing & Scoring    The race will be professionally scored and timed at the start and finish by Hasselmania Productions LLC. The race will be timed using disposable, electronic tags attached to the bib number.  Please wear your bib number to the front, pinned at all four corners, visible, and unaltered.  Results will be posted at the race and then online immediately following the race at  www.RaceSmith.com

AWARDS  AWARDS IN FOLLOWING CATEGORIES: OVERALL, MASTERS, GRAND MASTERS AND THE TOP THREE FINISHERS IN 15 CATEGORIES FOR MALE AND 15 CATEGORIES FOR FEMALE.

VCS Employee Schools/Departments will receive wellness funds for the top five teams with the highest participation for their school/department at: 1st place: $450, 2nd: $350, 3rd: $250, 4th: $150, 5th: $100
