OCSO Explorer Post #245 Mudbug 5k Run/Walk Students (ages 5-17) Run/Walk

The Mudbug 5k Run/Walk and Crawfish Boil is a family friendly community event to benefit the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office EXPLORER POST #245 and The Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers.

The Sheriff's Explorers are middle and high school students preparing for careers in public safety.  Monies raised will provide uniforms, training and educational opportunities to these future leaders.

The Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers will use proceeds to further assist local law enforcement with the apprehension of wanted persons in Okaloosa and Walton Counties.

This run is in conjunction with the Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers Mudbug Event that will occur after the race.  Race participants will receive a food discount at the Mudbug event.

ENTRY FEES:  

• $20 Early registration (thru midninght 4/12/23)
• $30 Late registration
• $10 Student (ages 0-17)

The 5k course starts on Hughes Street in Fort Walton Beach and ends at uptown Station at the Annual Crimestoppers Crawfish Boil!!!

Awards will be given to male and female runners in multiple age groups as well as the top Adult and the top under 18 male and female walkers. 

Race t-shirts will be given to the first 150 registrants.  

Event details and schedule

RACE DAY INFO:

Parking available at Uptown Station.
Day of race registration will be from 6:30-7:45 at Uptown Station.
Packet pick-up begins at 0630.

Race will start promptly at 0800.
Water stations will be situated throughout the course, but please make sure you are hydrated before you start running.
Awards ceremony will start appoximately 30 minutes after the final racer crosses the finish line.

THE COURSE:  

• Start on Hughes Street and head towards Ferry Road.  
• Left on Walton Drive continuing to Yacht Club Drive.
• Left on Yacht Club Drive continuing to Nebraska Avenue.
• Left on Clements Street continuing to Graham Circle.
• Right on Graham Circle continuing until intersection with Oregon Drive.
• At this intersection, turn around and run course in reverse course until you get to the back entrance of Uptown Station on Hughes Drive.

Your finish line is behind Buffalo Wild Wings at Uptown Station. 

Run participants get a discount price of $17 dollars for plates and add the Crime Stoppers link so they could see info on the Crawfish Boil.
