What to expect
Written from race dataThe Nurse on the Run 5K and 1 Mile Walk, scheduled for April 13, 2024, in Milford, Delaware, is a community-focused event designed to celebrate and support nursing professionals. While specific historical details of this particular iteration are not provided, such events often aim to foster camaraderie among healthcare workers and raise awareness for nursing-related causes. Participants can anticipate a friendly and supportive atmosphere, with the 5K offering a timed race for those seeking a personal best and the 1 Mile Walk providing a more relaxed, untimed experience for all ages and fitness levels. The event is set to take place in Milford, DE 19963, US. Based on typical race locations in this region and the nature of a 5K/1 Mile walk, participants can generally expect a route that is mostly flat with potentially some gentle inclines, often traversing local roads or park paths. The terrain is likely to be paved, making it accessible for strollers and wheelchairs. Participants should prepare for April weather conditions in Delaware, which can be variable, so checking the forecast and dressing in layers is advisable. A notable feature of the Nurse on the Run event is its specific dedication to nurses. This often translates into themed decorations, opportunities for participants to acknowledge and thank nurses, and potentially a portion of the proceeds benefiting nursing scholarships or charitable organizations. The dual offering of a timed 5K and an untimed 1 Mile Walk ensures broad participation, making it an inclusive event for both seasoned runners and those looking for a leisurely community stroll.
