2nd Annual 5K ANY WAY in Honor of Darren and Sheila 5K Run

2nd ANNUAL!!! Please join us (come walk or run!) for a 5K Walk and 5K run honoring Darren and Sheila Snyder. On October 3, 2022, Darren suffered a stroke and was hospitalized. During that hospital stay, Darren and Sheila learned the cause of his stroke, Multiple Myeloma. Since then, Darren is fighting this disease and  is healing from his stroke. Darren and Sheila are both active and love to be outside. Sheila loves to walk and participate in 5k races. This race is in honor of them and to encourage them to keep going, while also being able to give back. Sheila and Darren want to help others in this journey.  This year, the funds will help those who are battling cancer, to help other individuals right here in our community, who are going through cancer treatments. The money is used to help with their expenses. All donations will go to the COACH KILL CANCER FUND.  Checks can be made out to them.  The need is so great, and Sheila hopes to help as many others as possible, and she plans to visit with those who are battling and help them apply for support through the Coach Kill Cancer Fund.

Location:  The race starts and finishes at DeSoto Park, West Main Street  DeSoto, IL 

Proceeds go  to help people in our communities and their families in their battle with cancer (food, gas money, lodging, utilities, etc).

Packet Pickup from 7:00-7:45 a.m. on race day at race site. Additional packet pickup available at the Carbondale Elks Lodge, Friday evening, June 7. Watch for more information!

Awards to: Trophy to top Male overall finisher and top Female overall finisher,  AND Awards to the top TWO runners (male and female) and top TWO walkers (male and female) in the following age groups:

10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 and older
