PACE Southeast Michigan is proud to present the 3rd annual Set the PACE 5K, a fundraiser to support older adults who wish to live independently, at Eastwood Beach in Stony Creek Metropark. Thank you to Henry Ford Health, our presenting sponsor, for supporting this event.

Where do the proceeds from this event go?

The Set the PACE 5K fundraiser supports the PACE Southeast Michigan Community Giving Fund. While PACE Southeast Michigan provides care to older adults, our program participants who often live on a fixed income have additional basic and emergency needs required to remain living safely at home. Our Community Giving Fund was established to help with these costs, which can include roof repairs, appliance repair and replacement, and preventing utility shutoffs and evictions. It allows one of the most vulnerable populations in southeast Michigan – our seniors – to stay in the homes and communities they love.

Why "Set the PACE"?

While the 5K name "Set the PACE" is a fun play on words with PACE Southeast Michigan, we also take great concern for how older adults are being cared for in our communities. We see setting the PACE as setting the bar for what it means for seniors to live safely, comfortably, and with dignity in their own homes. By participating in the PACE Southeast Michigan Set the PACE 5K, you can help set up our Community Giving Fund for success, to ensure our participants get what they need to stay in their homes.

What is PACE Southeast Michigan?

PACE Southeast Michigan is a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). PACE Southeast Michigan’s mission is to keep aging, low-income, nursing-home-eligible adults with multiple chronic illnesses independent in their own homes by caring for their medical, physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs.

What does my 5K packet include?

All participants who register by Wednesday, May 16, 2024, will receive a t-shirt, race bib, and medal. T-shirts cannot be guaranteed if registered after May 16, 2024.
