This annual 5K Run/Walk/Kids Dash is a fundraiser for the "Jake Arntson Teammate Of The Year Scholarship". This scholarship is for high school senior athletes that attend both Clackamas High School and Adrienne Nelson High School in Oregon who plan to attend college. The scholarship is awarded to the athlete (s) that exemplifies kindness, support, friendship, encouragement and leadership on and off the field to their teammates and peers. They don't have to be the most skilled athlete, but more the "best teammate". 

Jake Arntson is our beloved son who tragically passed away at the young age of 7. He is the most positive kid who is a true friend, teammate, encourager, and positive influence both on and off the field.  One of Jakes favorite sayings is "Today is going to be my BEST DAY!" This scholarship is awarded to individuals that represent the qualities and attitude that Jake has.

The 5K race is a non-timed event that starts and ends at Clackamas High School track. There is a mix of runners, walkers, kids in strollers, leashed dogs, and sometimes people on bicycles. The course meanders through neighborhood's close to Clackamas HS and Pfeiffer Park.  Pfeiffer Park has a segment in the course where we acknowledge and remember children of our friends who have left us too soon. There is a supervised Kids Zone for parents to put their kiddos while they to participate in the 5K if they would like.  The Kids dash will follow the 5K on the track and is divided into two groups for the little and big kids. Metals are given to the kids! Refreshments, music, friends, community and fun is to be had on this special day!
