What to expect

Written from race data

The Smiles for Miles 5K & 1.5 Mile Walk is scheduled for June 8, 2024, in Chelmsford, MA. This event offers both a timed 5K run and a non-competitive 1.5-mile walk, making it accessible for runners of all levels and those who prefer a leisurely stroll. While specific historical details are not provided, the inclusion of a walk segment suggests a long-standing tradition of community engagement and inclusivity, likely aimed at promoting fitness and potentially supporting a charitable cause through the "Smiles for Miles" moniker. Participants can anticipate a welcoming atmosphere designed for enjoyment and active participation. The terrain in Chelmsford, typically characterized by paved roads and potentially some park paths, suggests a relatively smooth and accessible course for both the 5K and the walk. While weather in June in Massachusetts can vary, participants should prepare for potentially warm conditions and ensure they are adequately hydrated. The dual event format is a notable feature, catering to a wider audience and fostering a sense of community where both serious runners and casual walkers can contribute to the spirit of the event.
