We have a few leftover surplus medals, t-shirts & Cats Meow red-white-blue awards, thus if you would like to purchase any extra shirts or surplus awards as a souvenir, email us as above to arrange. Get ready for the 22nd annual Freedom 5K !! What's new for 2023? mapping out a course adjustment with the start-finish line near the helicopter at Lynch Field, map will be at early packet pick & posted at Lynch field day of race.

Early registration opened 2/17/23, early fee of $17.76 till 5/31/23 then $20; race day is 25$ except age 65+ or 19 & under remain 20$. You can register race day but please register on the website to expedite signups day of the race. We will be using t-shirt inventory on the website platform, you can choose "no shirt" for a 2$ discount. If we run out of shirts race day your only choice will be "no shirt" but you can get a shirt from a prior year
Kids Sparkler for ages 10 & under. Register your young sprinter after/during the 5K, 8$ per kid. Several heats will be held as kids are available.
Early packet pick up & in person registration 7/3 from Noon-6pm at Gingerbreadman Running store (5142 Rt 30, Suite 165; Greensburg, PA)
Door prizes will be inserted into the goody bags so look inside when you get home !
Vintage t-shirts will be available for sale, 4$ each, 3 for 10$ !!
***Wave starts will be used again. ** Plan for race day is National anthem followed by race instructions at 08:25; 4 wave starts: Wave #1- 08:30, runners sub 24 min pace; Wave #2- 0830 + 60sec, runners 24-28 min pace; Wave #3 0830 + 120 sec, runners >28 min pace; Wave #4 0830 + 180 sec, walkers. If you are going to "run a little" please sign up as a runner or let us know when you finish to re-classify you.
The course is out and back. PLEASE stay to right half of the trail especially in the tunnel and around its curve to avoid any collisions with potential bikers. Water station is located before the 1 mile mark going out & little after the 2 mile mark on the way back, please try to get your cups tossed into the barrels downstream. NO running on train tracks please & stay on the main part of the overpass bridges. We cross one not-so-busy intersection & the city will provide traffic horses but please glance to be sure no vehicles are trying to go around the barriers.
Teams need to be registered by 7/31 !!
Awards: Top 3 male & female runners by gun time so make sure you are in the 1st wave if you're speedy! Other awards are chip timed: Top male & female masters runner (age 40+) by chip time & Top 3 walkers male/female by chip time; Runners/Walkers age group awards are all chip time as there are waves but all walkers should be in the final wave. Age groups: Runners top 3: 15/under, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 4
