Running for The Edson 5k Run

The inaugural year in running for The Edson!

A 5k course mostly through the grounds of the Saginaw Valley Naval Ship Museum, starting and ending at the ship.  The run will take place during the weekend of the Edson's July 4th festivities and will be timed by local legend, Ted Davenport.  

What you'll give: some money to help keep The Edson museum afloat financially - all proceeds go directly to the upkeep of the museum, and your attention - the board of directors is trying to find different ways to get the ship into the community more.  

What you'll receive: a wicked cool 2-sided medal that has The Edson's logo on one side and the SVNSM logo on the other.  Most assuredly not your standard 5k medal.  You'll also get free entry on-board the Edson, if you pre-register.  AND, most excellently, you'll get a bona fide gun start.  From the ship.  A real live gun will shoot off to get you started.  Literally a gun start.

Of course, there will be water and snacks when you finish and there will be plenty of The Edson's personnel about if you wanted to ask questions about the ship.
