Calling all runners, walkers, exercisers, outdoor enthusiasts, and supporters of Kaleva Heritage Days! Come join us at the KHD 5k Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 9:00am. The route will start at the Maple Grove Township Community Center, located at 9208 Kauko St, Kaleva, MI 49645. This is the former elementary school building. Parking is available in the adjacent parking lot. The route will be an Out and Back, starting at the Community Center, moving out of town on Industrial Drive to Jouppi Road, and then returning back the same route. Markers will be placed on corners, arrows will be sprayed on the ground at intersections, and most places will be manned with human arrows. One water station will be located at the halfway point at Jouppi Road. This is a fun run/ walk, so no official time will be kept. A clock will be displayed at the start/ finish line. Registrants will receive a unique Kaleva Heritage Days 5k medal. Special prizes will be awarded to first finishers in each age bracket. Prizes will be given as finishers cross. There is no post-race ceremony, as we want everyone to be able to head off to enjoy the other festivities.
