2nd Annual DK Movement Cares 5K Run/Walk Fitness Walk

Expanding on the success of our inaugural DK Movement Cares 5K Run/Walk, we've made pivotal changes to amplify this next years experience. Notably, the race course has been adjusted based on the feedback from our runners and will now be certified!

1st Place: $300 & Medal
2nd Place: $150 & Medal
3rd Place: $75 & Medal

Event Details:

Date: August 24, 2024
Time: 7:00 AM - 8:30 AM (Registration and Check-in), 9:00 AM (Race Start)
Venue: The Bridge Community Church, 43 School Street, Bristol, CT.

Registration Includes:

Participation medal, first 200 registrants will receive an upgraded t-shirt and special swag bag.

Registration Fee Runners: $30 + runsignup fee
Registration Fee Fitness Walkers: $25 + runsignup fee

Group Categories and Prizes:

We're introducing the new category of Running Club vs. Running Club, alongside our traditional categories: Team vs. Team, School vs. School, and Gym vs. Gym. All group winners will be presented with a group trophy, with the winning school earning a perpetual trophy to be displayed and passed on to the subsequent year's victors. In addition, a challenging hill competition: secure a top 15 finish to compete for the King and Queen of the Hill title, with winners taking home $100 and a plaque. Age-group medals also up for grabs.

New and improved USATF certified course.
Dedicated Kids' Zone area.
Musical entertainment to enhance the race atmosphere.
A range of food trucks offering a culinary treat for participants and spectators.
Free Kids Fun Run for children 9 and under at 8:15 AM. All participants get a free t-shirt.
Mid-course water station.
Awards ceremony post-race. To claim cash prizes, runners must be present.

Proceeds & Impact:

This year, as we focus solely on the Bristol Special Olympics, we've set an ambitious goal of $50,000 to fund an entire year of programs, aiming to significantly enhance the experiences and opportunities for these incredible athletes.
