The **Iron Horse Half Marathon** returns on **August 25, 2024**, in the scenic town of **North Bend, WA**. This event, with a history rooted in showcasing the stunning Snoqualmie Valley, offers participants a unique opportunity to run a half marathon while supporting a charitable cause through its "Charity Bib" program. Runners can anticipate a well-organized race designed to highlight the natural beauty of the region. Participants should expect a predominantly **flat and fast course**, primarily run on the **Iron Horse State Park Trail**. This means the terrain will be mostly **crushed gravel**, offering a smooth yet firm surface. The trail winds through picturesque forests, alongside rivers, and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. While generally considered trail running, the packed gravel makes it accessible for road runners seeking a slightly different experience. The August date generally suggests **mild to warm weather conditions**, but participants should still be prepared for potential variations common in the Pacific Northwest. The flat profile makes it an excellent choice for those aiming for a personal best, and the beauty of the surroundings provides a motivating backdrop.
