What to expect

Written from race data

The "Do Hard Things 5k Run/Walk & 9.11-Mile Run or Ruck" is a virtual event taking place on September 14, 2024, originating from Columbia, MO. While this is a virtual race, it encourages participants to tackle a "hard thing" on this specific date, whether that's completing the 5k distance, the 9.11-mile distance, or even a ruck (carrying a weighted pack). Participants can complete their chosen distance anywhere they wish, offering flexibility. The "Do Hard Things" moniker suggests the event aims to challenge participants physically and mentally, pushing their perceived limits. Given its virtual nature, specific terrain and conditions will vary depending on the participant's chosen location. However, the event's origin in Columbia, MO, which features rolling hills and a mix of paved paths and some trail systems, could serve as inspiration for those seeking similar challenges. The 9.11-mile distance, particularly when combined with a ruck, points towards an event that embraces grit and endurance over pure speed, making it appealing to those who enjoy a significant physical challenge. The 9.11-mile distance also subtly honors the significance of the date it is held, September 14th.
