Race on the Runway 1 mile Taxi-Trot

Race on the Runway is proud to offer a variety of races including the 1 mile, "Taxi-Trot" fun run; the "Flight Deck" 5k, and the areas only 10k, "The Tarmac 10k."

The race is being held in conjunction with Currituck County's Planes and Plows event and all proceed go to Kid's First, Inc., the organization which works with kids who have suffered from abuse, including child sex trafficking.

The challenging courses are very unique, check out the maps! The 10k circles the runway (hopefully you will be around planes that are taking off and landing, goes out onto county property and navigates through the woods and ponds). Anticipate a mixture of terrain including asphalt, grass and dirt paths.

Stay after the race to enjoy the Planes and Plows event which will host multiple vendors and plane rides.

Runner and walkers welcome!  We recommend strollers and dogs (leash required) start at the back. There are several award categories including overalls, age division, military, wheelchair and the Top Gun Award to the oldest runner competing in the 5k and 10k.

Every competitor receives a unique medal and race shirt. The Taxi-Trot is dedicated to our younger runners, 12 and under and they will also receive their flight pins.
