What to expect
Written from race dataThe **Round the Sound Swim**, a 4KM open water challenge, will take place on **October 13, 2024**, starting from the Bayside Lane dock near Trinity Church in **Flatt's, Bermuda (FL07, BM)**. While specific historical details of this particular event are not provided, the "Event Type: 6" suggests it's likely part of a larger series or a well-established local race format. Participants can anticipate a significant open water swimming distance, requiring a good level of endurance and swimming proficiency. The race is expected to offer a classic Bermuda coastal swimming experience. Given its "Round the Sound" moniker, expect to navigate a scenic route within the sheltered waters of the sound. Typical conditions in Bermuda in October are generally warm with calm to moderate seas, though participants should always be prepared for potential variable weather, including sun, wind, and currents. The terrain will be entirely open water, with the start and finish points clearly defined. The 4KM distance itself is a notable feature, placing it as a substantial challenge for both seasoned swimmers and those looking to test their limits in a significant open water event.
