2024 Veterans VA5K 5K Run/Walk

Join us for the 9th annual Veterans VA5K on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at 1pm in Lexington.

Our in-person event will take place at the Lexington VA Health Care System Franklin R. Sousley Campus.  We will also have a virtual option for those who can't join us in person on November 3rd.

Our race will benefit the Lexington VA Medical Center Volunteer Program and the Lexington Fisher House, which provides lodging for the families of veterans being treated at the medical center. The Lexington Division of Community Corrections and Columbia Gas of Kentucky and its NiVets employee resource group are presenting and coordinating sponsors of the event.

EVENT DETAILS AND SCHEDULE

PACKET PICKUP:  Race packets, including numbered bibs and T-shirts, can be picked up Friday, November 1st from 3:00-5:00pm under the RaceRise tent near the flagpole in front of the VA Center and at the same location from 10:30am-12:30pm on race day.  Virtual participants will receive their packet by U.S. mail. 

AWARDS:   We will have awards for the Top 3 M/F Overall Finishers as well as the Top 3 M/F finishers in the following age divisions:  10 & under, 11-14, 15-19,20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+

SPECIAL AUSA MILITARY CASH PRIZES (Selected Participants Below)  -  All VIRTUAL PARTICIPANT winners require official team leader certification of their time to be eligible for prizes.

• JROTC Male & Female - 1st Finisher: $50, 2nd Finisher: $25
• Senior ROTC Male & Female - 1st Finisher: $50, 2nd Finisher: $25
• Army Recruit  -  1st Finisher: $50, 2nd Finisher: $25

RACE DAY SCHEDULE:  Registration and packet pickup will be from 10:30am-12:30pm at the Sousley campus. Activities for participants and their families will begin at 12:30 p.m. The timed race will begin at 1 pm. The awards ceremony and door prize presentations will begin at 2 pm or as soon as times are tabulated. Coffee and hot chocolate will be available for registered participants before the race. Refreshments will be provided post-race.

VIRTUAL RESULTS:  Virtual results can be submitted online at RESULTS

PARKING & RESTROOMS:  Parking and restrooms will be available at the Sousley campus.
