Race Staff
The Ninja 5K & 10K at Green Hills County Park in Raleigh, NC, on November 9th, 2024, marks the first round (RD1) of this challenging event series. While specific historical details of this exact "Ninja" iteration are not provided, it's safe to assume this race builds upon a tradition of obstacle course races (OCRs) that test participants' strength, agility, and endurance. Runners should anticipate a demanding course that goes beyond a traditional road race, integrating a variety of physical challenges alongside the running segments. Participants can expect a diverse and engaging experience at Green Hills County Park. The terrain is likely to be a mix of natural elements common to a county park setting, including trails, grassy areas, and potentially some wooded sections, which could lead to uneven footing and varied elevation changes. The "Ninja" designation strongly suggests the inclusion of numerous obstacles. These could range from climbing walls and cargo nets to rope swings, balance beams, and other strength-based challenges designed to test a competitor's overall athleticism. The specific obstacles will likely vary between the 5K and 10K distances, with the 10K offering a more extensive and demanding obstacle progression. The November date means participants should be prepared for potentially cooler weather conditions, which can be advantageous for running but may require appropriate layering for the static obstacle challenges.
