The BEER & BAGEL OFF-ROAD RACE SERIES is coming back to Yeager’s Farm & Market in Phoenixville, PA. with a new twist. For 2023, we are introducing two new events making this a 2-day race weekend. In addition to our traditional 4-mile(ish) run on Sunday (11/5/23), we are creating a 10-mile(ish) off-road run for preceding Saturday (11/4/23). You can do either day as a separate event OR do them both and receive the coveted Squatchy Challenge Finisher's Medal.
This is a favorite event for runners throughout the area, who come each year for a challenging trail run, great swag, and good clean fun. Of course, there is always plenty of free bagels and beer. And everybody loves the shirt – a long-sleeve tech shirt with the statement “I’m a Drinker with a Running Problem” on the back.
The BEER & BAGEL OFF-ROAD RACE SERIES started more than twenty-five years ago in the Heartland of America, where every fall, thousands of runners, beer drinkers, and bagel enthusiasts gather in Lincoln, Nebraska to enjoy a 4ish-mile off-road run, free beer, bagels and home cookin' just like mom used to make. Today, the series has spread to multiple states, but every effort is made to keep it local and home-grown. Here, the event is supported by the Yeager family, Barrister's Bagel Bakery and Slyfox Brewing.
The Beer & Bagel Run - Pennsylvania 10-Mile(ish) Run is a unique and casual road race held annually in Phoenixville, PA. Established as a fun, community-driven event, it's known for its relaxed atmosphere and focus on post-race enjoyment rather than intense competition. Participants can expect a scenic, mostly paved route through the charming town and its surrounding areas, designed to be accessible to runners of varying abilities. The "ish" in the title playfully suggests a course length that may vary slightly from exactly 10 miles, adding to the event's informal spirit. The typical terrain for the Beer & Bagel Run is characterized by paved roads, with the possibility of some light rolling hills. Given the November date, runners should be prepared for potentially cool to crisp autumn weather conditions, which can be ideal for running but may require appropriate layering. The race's standout feature is, of course, its namesake: participants are rewarded with both beer and bagels at the finish line, a highly anticipated aspect that cements its reputation as a fun and social running experience. This event is perfect for those looking to enjoy a well-organized, less pressure-filled race with a rewarding and festive conclusion.
