Please join us on November 11 for a new event to launch the Michael Moore Type1 (MMT1) Diabetes Foundation. This 5k Run/Walk and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk will be held in downtown Fort Gibson and will be run on a new USATF Certified Course that starts at downtown Fort Gibson Park at Maple and Railroad (scroll down for the map). This event coincides with Veterans Day, so please wear red, white, and blue in support of our Veterans. Race Timing by I:40 Race Service and medals will be awarded to top 3 in each 5k age group. Refreshments will be provided after the run.
About Type1 Diabetes and the Michael Moore Type1 (MMT1) Foundation:
Type1 diabetes is a chronic (life-long) autoimmune disease that prevents your pancreas from making insulin. It requires daily management with insulin injections and blood sugar monitoring. Both children and adults can be diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.
MMT1 was recently founded for the purpose of:
- Raising funds for research for a cure for Type1 diabetes
- Providing educational resources for both Type1 and Type2 diabetes
- Providiong financial assistance to those Type1's that need it.
