Race Staff
The Pie Gobbler 1M, 5K, & 10K, with this particular iteration being the RD1 5K event on November 23, 2024, is held at the picturesque Lancaster Junction Trail in Manheim, PA. While specific historical details for this exact race are not provided, its designation as a "RD1" event suggests it might be the first of a series or a new addition to a running calendar. Participants can anticipate a festive and likely fall-themed atmosphere, with the "Pie Gobbler" name strongly hinting at post-race pie, a common and highly anticipated reward at this type of event. The Lancaster Junction Trail typically offers a relatively flat and scenic out-and-back course, making it suitable for runners of all skill levels. Participants should expect a well-marked trail, likely composed of packed gravel or hard-packed dirt, ideal for achieving good race times. Given the late November date, runners should be prepared for cooler autumn weather, potentially with crisp air and colorful fall foliage. The compact nature of the trail might mean a more intimate race experience, with opportunities for spectator encouragement along the course.
