The Burn The Bird 10k, 5k, and 1.33-mile Fun Run/Walk is a Thanksgiving Day tradition held annually on November 28th, 2024, in Great Falls, Montana. This event is a staple for local runners and families looking to get active before their holiday feast. While specific historical details are not provided, it's common for such races to foster a strong community spirit and encourage participation across all ages and fitness levels. Participants can anticipate a festive atmosphere, with opportunities for both competitive racing and a leisurely stroll, making it an inclusive event for everyone. The typical terrain for the Burn The Bird races is likely to be a mix of paved roads and potentially some park trails within Great Falls, offering a scenic but generally manageable running surface. Given its November date, participants should be prepared for cooler weather conditions, possibly with frost or light snow, making appropriate attire crucial. The inclusion of a 1.33-mile option specifically caters to younger children, families with strollers, or those seeking a very short, accessible way to participate. The variety of distances ensures that whether you're aiming for a personal best in the 10k or simply enjoying a brisk walk with loved ones, there's a suitable option for you.
