Race Staff
The Holiday 5K, 10K, & Half Marathon at Green Springs Park in Deltona, FL, scheduled for December 28, 2024, offers a festive running experience for participants of all levels. While specific historical details for this particular event were not provided, such holiday-themed races often aim to provide a fun and celebratory atmosphere, encouraging community participation during the festive season. This year's iteration, referred to as "RD1 10K," suggests it may be the first of a series or have a specific focus on the 10K distance for its initial run. Participants can anticipate a scenic and relatively flat course through Green Springs Park. The terrain is generally expected to be a mix of paved pathways and potentially some packed dirt or gravel trails within the park, typical of a natural park environment. Runners should be prepared for December weather in Florida, which can range from cool and crisp mornings to mild afternoons, so appropriate attire is recommended. The event likely offers a supportive and encouraging environment for both seasoned runners and those new to racing. While no specific notable features were detailed, races hosted in parks like Green Springs often leverage the natural beauty of the location, potentially including festive decorations or post-race refreshments to enhance the holiday theme. The inclusion of multiple distances (5K, 10K, and Half Marathon) ensures there's an option for everyone, from casual joggers to endurance athletes looking to cap off their year with a challenge.
