The PECO Cross Country League is a series of 5 cross country races organised in and around Leeds in which clubs affiliated to the League compete across men's and ladies divisions. Each race is about 4-5 miles. The only way to enter the race series is to buy a season ticket online in advance for just £17, which provides entry to all five races. Once registered and paid for, you will not need to register again all season. The price of the season ticket will reduce to £10 after race 3 is complete, (ie to include race 4 and race 5). After race 4 the price will reduce to £7 for those entering race 5. These prices include free entry to the Peco Relays and to the Peco Presentation Evening.
AI Overview

The PECO XC League (2024-25) Race 2, set for December 1, 2024, at Pontefract Park in Pontefract, UK, is the second fixture in this popular cross-country series. Organised by the league itself, this event draws runners from across the region for a competitive yet community-focused experience. As part of a league, participants can expect a strong team atmosphere, with clubs vying for points across the season, alongside individual challenges. "Event Type 4" typically signifies a senior race, implying a significant distance, likely a challenging 8-10km course for adult runners. Participants should prepare for classic British cross-country conditions. Pontefract Park usually offers a mixed terrain course comprising open parkland, grassy fields, and potentially some undulating sections. Given the early December date, expect challenging winter weather; conditions will almost certainly be cold, wet, and very muddy, making for a true test of grit and endurance. Spikes or aggressive trail shoes are highly recommended to navigate the potentially deep mud and slippery surfaces effectively. This race is a notable mid-season opportunity to compete in an authentic cross-country environment, contributing to both individual and team standings within the exciting PECO XC League series.
