What to expect

Written from race data

The Leeds Half Marathon, scheduled for May 11, 2025, in Leeds, UK, is a major 13.1-mile road race expertly organised by Run for All Ltd. As one of the city's largest running events, it draws thousands of participants ranging from seasoned athletes to charity fundraisers, all seeking to conquer the challenging course and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere. Participants should anticipate a professionally managed event with clear signage, well-stocked aid stations, and comprehensive support infrastructure. The course is widely known for its undulating nature, reflecting Leeds' characteristically hilly urban landscape. Runners should be prepared for significant ascents and descents throughout the route, which typically navigates through the city centre and surrounding areas on closed roads, offering glimpses of local landmarks. Mid-May in the UK brings variable weather; conditions could range from pleasant and mild to potentially wet, windy, or surprisingly warm, so participants should train and prepare for changeable spring conditions. A notable feature of the Leeds Half Marathon is the incredible crowd support, with spectators lining much of the route to cheer on the runners, creating a truly motivating experience. Being a Run for All Ltd event, it carries a strong emphasis on charity fundraising, fostering a strong sense of community and collective achievement. Upon crossing the finish line, all participants are rewarded with a well-deserved medal and finisher's t-shirt, marking their accomplishment in this demanding yet highly rewarding city centre half marathon.
