Sunday 23rd August 2026 Now in its 41st year! The Finishers Towel! All finishers of the race will be pesented with a fluffy towel as a race memento at the finish line. These are always a popular (and useful) souvenir of taking part in the 10K. We hope you love them! This consisted of an endurance race over an unmeasured distance (about 5-6 miles) and a shorter fun run. A year later, this evolved into a measured 10K race, again with the fun run. Soon, The Birchwood 10K had built a strong following from regional running and athletics clubs. Since then, as the popularity of open races for all runners has grown ever stronger, our race has grown too and has taken place every August. The only exception being in 2020, when almost all races were unable to take place due to pandemic restrictions. Even then, we put on a virtual version of the race to keep us all running. 2025 marked the 40th Birchwood 10K. Were planning for next years race to be on an all new & exciting course!
